Benefits of an Asphalt Driveway

2/2/2015

Having a new driveway installed can improve your home's curb appeal and it's overall value. Determining which material will be the best for your new driveway can be a big decision to make, especially considering it is something you will be using every day for a long time.  Asphalt is a good option for your driveway and definitely a material to be considered.

Some of the benefits of asphalt include:

1. Longevity

One of the most important benefits of having an asphalt driveway is how long your investment will last. Asphalt contracts and expands with different temperatures and weather conditions. This flexibility helps asphalt not break easily like concrete. An asphalt driveway can withstand heavy loads and holds up well in high-traffic areas. This makes it a great choice for any residential property.

2. Cost

Asphalt is not an expensive material. Asphalt can be less than half the cost of concrete and holds up just as well, especially here in the San Antonio area.

3.Cures Quickly

Waiting on your driveway to dry and losing access to your home can be a big inconvenience. With asphalt, you can drive on your new driveway the same day it is installed.

4.Maintenance

No matter what material you choose for your driveway, it will require maintenance. Asphalt repairs and maintenance are the least expensive compared to other materials. In the case of replacement, repaving is far less expensive than any other type of driveway.

So, if you're looking for a long-lasting, cost-efficient driveway that requires little upkeep, asphalt is the way to go.

My brother is trying to sell his home. He is trying to raise the value before selling in any way possible. His driveway is cracked very badly, and he wants to get it replaced quickly. I didn't realize that an asphalt driveway is able to cure so quickly that you can even drive on it the same day it's installed. That's a really cool benefit my brother will be interested in hearing about.

I didn't know that asphalt expands and contracts to avoid cracking, depending on the weather and temperature. I want to pave my gravel driveway and I don't know if asphalt or concrete would be better. The weather in my area can get extreme in the winter and the summer. Asphalt might be a better option for my driveway if it changes with the weather and doesn't crack.

I like that you mentioned that asphalt can less than half the cost of concrete. My wife and I want our driveway repaved, but weren't sure if asphalt would be any better than concrete. Thanks for the information--I think asphalt would be perfect for us!

It was really nice how you pointed out that one of the reasons why asphalt was a good choice was the idea that it holds well and is durable despite being affordable. I think learning about this is good because my parents were planning to have the driveway done next month, and they want to use the best material for it. By best, they mean strong and affordable, and I think I found exactly what fits the description. I'll talk to them about this. Thank you.

It's good to know that asphalt can cost half as much as concrete. I'm looking at getting a driveway installed for my home. I wouldn't mind using asphalt to save some money!

My current driveway is basically just gravel, and I have problems with it eroding away when it rains hard. So I want to put in a more permanent option. That means that I really like how you point out that asphalt will last a long time because it is flexible and doesn't break like other materials. I'll have to find someone who could put in a concrete driveway for me.

I had no idea that there are so many benefits of having an asphalt driveway and I am glad that I found this article because my husband and I are building a custom home right now. The fact that an asphalt driveway is cost-effective and also withstands different weather conditions is a huge benefit because we are building our home in an area that gets all kinds of weather! Also, my husband will be happy to know that maintenance costs for asphalt are the least expensive compared to other materials.

I love how you point out that asphalt is the least expensive material when it comes to repair and maintenance. My driveway has a huge pothole right where my husband's car drives every day, and he's pretty sick of it. I think we would really benefit from having an asphalt driveway that would be simpler and less expensive to maintain.

I like how you said that asphalt is not a very expensive material. My wife and I have decided that we need to pave our driveway as soon as possible. Right now we are just with a dirt driveway so we'll have to hire an asphalt paving service to come and get something solid laid down for us.

I like how you talked about one of the important benefits of having an asphalt driveway is how long the investment will last. My dad is replacing his driveway and is trying to decide what material or look he's going for right now. Thank you for the information about how this sort can withstand heavy loads and holds up well to high-traffic.

That's really good to know that asphalt actually costs less than half of what concrete will cost. My current home doesn't have a driveway, and I would like to change that so that I can actually park on my property. I'll have to find a blacktop contractor who'll be able to put in an asphalt one for me.

Thanks for pointing out that an asphalt driveway will have cheaper maintenance, repair, replacement costs. My brother recently moved into an old home with a dirt driveway. He wants to get it paved as soon as possible, but doesn't have much money to spend. I'll definitely recommend he look into an asphalt driveway so he can get it done soon, even on a budget.

That is nice to know that asphalt maintenance and repairs are the least expensive. My driveway is asphalt and it would be really nice to have a lower cost repair. Maybe that is something that I will have to look for in case I get some damages to my driveway.

I think it is so cool that you can use your driveway the same day it installed if you use asphalt as the material. My brother is having his driveway redone because his has cracked beyond repair. I will be sure to recommend he find a driveway contractor that can install asphalt so that he can have a longer-lasting product that doesn't inconvenience as much as other options.
